This weekend in Minneapolis, a federal immigration agent murdered Alex Pretti, an ICU nurse who cared for our veterans as a nurse at the VA hospital. We watched it happen from several angles, all horrific, filmed by bystanders on their cell phones in the freezing cold. And despite the lies from the Trump administration, we all had the same takeaway: This looked like an execution.

Instead of immediately investigating this killing, abuse of power and civil rights violations as part of ICE’s crackdown in Minneapolis, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi sent Minnesota Governor Tim Walz a threatening letter on Saturday night, attempting to extort voter rolls from the state as part of an effort to undermine future elections. Enough is enough.

Senate Democrats are drawing the line and refusing to advance the Department of Homeland Security funding bill this week.
