2026 DNC Democratic Lawyers Council
The mission of the Democratic Lawyers Council is to engage the legal community in support of Democratic victories up and down the ballot in the 2026 midterms and beyond. The Democratic Lawyers Council will serve as a central hub for volunteer recruitment and will also harness resources to help fund the DNC's legal work. Volunteers can engage as follows:
DNC Legal Volunteers: Work directly with the DNC Legal Team to assist on projects including drafting memos, developing knowledge base materials, and updating contingency planning materials. Council members may serve as additional eyes and ears for DNC Legal on local election issues throughout the cycle.
State Voter Protection Volunteers: On-the-ground voter protection work during early voting, on Election Day, and throughout the post-election period, including cure, canvass, ballot counting operations, and certification.
National Volunteer Bank: Join the list of potential volunteers who can provide legal services to state parties and individual campaigns. This can lower costs across the ecosystem, freeing up resources for other programs.
In addition to volunteering their expertise, lawyers will be given the opportunity to organize fundraisers within the legal community. The DNC will provide materials and staff support to engage your networks in the legal profession — all in pursuit of our shared mission to elect Democrats at every level, all across the country.
